Muhammad Rizwan Riaz is a Postdoctoral Research Associate with the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. His research is focused on exploring the intricacies of gene expression and cellular processes through transcriptomics and systems biology. His main objective within RIPE is modeling photosynthesis by applying systems biology methods to explore processes involved in plant growth.

 Muhammad’s bachelor’s in bioinformatics from the Government College University Faisalabad Pakistan, masters in Bioinformatics from COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI) in Pakistan and Doctorate in Biology (Bioinformatics) from Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) in Pakistan make him an impactful person for the mission of the RIPE project. His work has been published in ACS Synthetic Biology and Microbiological Research.
